Second Annual Small Scale Organic Medicinal Herb Farming Workshop
May 24 @ 1:00 pm - May 26 @ 1:00 pm$125.00 – $525.00
Have you ever dreamed of having an herb farm? This three-day workshop could inspire you to make your dreams come true!
Our classroom is Gentle Harmony Farm, a USDA certified organic herb farm, where you’ll get hands-on experience with various aspects of herb cultivation, harvesting, and drying as we introduce you to the entire process of growing herbs from seed propagation to packaging dried herbs for sale.
You’ll learn what herb buyers and practitioners look for when purchasing bulk herbs from growers, as well as tips for finding a market for what you grow. And we’ve also got a bit of hands-on medicine making planned to demonstrate the many ways herbs are used as medicinal preparations.
We guarantee that you’ll leave this weekend with the information and inspiration you need to get started. Find a detailed schedule for the weekend here.
Teachers: Your instructors include Pam and Charles Leonard, (owners/farmers, Gentle Harmony Farm), Jeannie Dunn (owner/buyer, Red Moon Herbs), Jessie Dean (owner/buyer, Asheville Tea Company), Sara Stender (director/owner, Africa Healing Exchange, 3 Mountains), and Patricia Kyritsi Howell (clinical herbalist/author, BotanoLogos School of Herbal Studies).
Throughout the weekend you’ll be able to ask questions and get the information you need to start (or expand) your own herb venture. In order to personalize your experience, we’ve limited enrollment to only 10 people. Early registration is strongly advised!
