Wildflowers & Weeds Spring Foraging Walk with Cara-Lee Langston

April 13 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

$60

This walk is SOLD OUT! To be notified if we have a cancellation, send us an email.

And watch for more walks with Cara-Lee in the months ahead.

Learn to identify wild edible and medicinal plants growing in springtime in our bountiful Southern Appalachia landscape.

Discover naturalized and invasive species of wild foods and herbs favored by modern-day foragers for sustainability. We will contrast these with endemic, ephemeral botanicals we strive to preserve and protect, such as ramps, bloodroot, trout lily, and trillium.

As we end the walk, we’ll taste freshly harvested wild greens, a wild-inspired beverage, and a tasty treat made with locally harvested ingredients.

Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to ramble in the mountains surrounded by vibrant spring wildflowers!

You’ll meet Cara at a location near downtown Clayton, (Rabun County) Georgia and caravan to a nearby trail. Carpooling is encouraged due to limited parking at the trailhead.

What to Bring: Please bring a water bottle and wear closed-toe shoes with socks. Long pants and sleeves and a brimmed hat are highly recommended for those sensitive to poison ivy, insects, grasses, and sun. Feel free to bring a notebook and pen, camera, walking stick, backpack, bug spray, sun protection, snacks, hat, walking stick, and anything else you may need to feel comfortable outdoors.
