Early Spring Herbs and Wild Foods Walk with Cara-Lee Langston

Description
Join us on the trail for our first plant walk of the season as the forest comes alive.
Bloodroot, mayapples, and trillium unfurl their distinctive foliage. Fiddleheads spirals, clusters of wild violets and the tiny chartreuse flowers of blue cohosh line the forest trails. Traditional Appalachian spring tonics – chickweed, dandelion, plantain, sochan, and bittercress – provide us with spicy nutritious greens that have long been used in Appalachian Folk Medicine to “cool the blood.”
Such an exciting time to be outdoors, especially after a long winter, and a great way to celebrate Earth Day!
