Description
As summer winds down, we turn our attention to harvesting roots, seeds, and berries with medicinal uses. Colder nights and shorter days encourage plants to build reserves in their roots so we’ll be looking at and harvesting roots at their peak potency now. We’ll talk about sustainable harvesting, share recipes for winter remedies and savor the last days of the growing season.
Great class for both beginners, and anyone who is interested in becoming more familiar with our local flora. Easy walking for the most part but the ability to stand and walk without discomfort is best for this one. A list of supplies you will need for medicine-making sent with registration confirmation (approximately $15-20 investment.)
This class is the last of a series of Appalachian Herb outings that Patricia is offering this summer. Check out the other dates earlier in the summer to learn more about Appalachian herbs throughout the season!
