Jen Stovall

As a Community Herbalist and Health Educator, Jen combines Southern Folk Medicine, Western Herbalism, and harm reduction in her classes and herbal practice.

Jen believes that herbalism is a potent tool for pursuing social justice globally and a powerful manifestation of the ethical and ideological path she walks in her personal life. As a teacher and practitioner, her goal is to make health care accessible by educating and empowering her clients and students. And she is renewed and inspired by the magical spark that happens whenever people are introduced to plant allies through consultations, herb walks, medicine making, and health education.

She is the director and primary educator at Samara School of Community Herbalism and one of Maypop Community Herb Shop co-founders, both in New Orleans, Louisiana, and co-founder and educator at the Terra Sylva School for Botanical Medicine in North Carolina.
